About Schriibli
What is Schriibli?
Schriibli is a writing practice website for short real-life Zurich German messages. You choose a situation, write your answer, and get a natural Zurich German version plus practical feedback.
Which dialect is this?
Schriibli focuses on Zurich German, often called Zuerichdeutsch or Zuerituetsch. The goal is natural everyday writing for Zurich-area situations, not a general Swiss German dictionary.
Is this Zurich German only?
The current learning target is Zurich German. Other Swiss German dialects can be understandable, but Schriibli's corrections and examples are tuned toward Zurich German.
Swiss German and spelling
Is the Swiss German official?
Swiss German is widely spoken, but Standard German is the official written language in many formal situations. Schriibli helps with informal Zurich German writing, such as messages to friends, neighbours, colleagues, or local contacts.
Why are spellings different?
Swiss German does not have one single official spelling. People write words in different ways depending on dialect, habit, and context. Schriibli prefers spellings that are understandable and natural for Zurich German.
AI feedback
How does the AI feedback work?
Schriibli sends the selected scenario and your answer to an AI correction system. It returns a score, a natural Zurich German version, short improvement points, acceptable alternatives, and a small next practice idea. AI feedback can be imperfect, so use the feedback buttons when something feels wrong.
How do I report bad feedback?
After a correction, use Yes, Partly, or No under 'Was this correction helpful?' and add a short reason if needed. For bigger problems, use the feedback page and include the scenario or page where it happened. Do not include passwords or sensitive personal information.
Access and billing
What does the free plan include?
During beta, Schriibli includes free writing practice with daily correction limits. Logged-out users can try a few corrections, and logged-in users can save attempts and get a higher daily limit.
What does Plus include?
Plus is not available during beta yet. There are no paid Schriibli subscriptions in the app right now.
How do I cancel?
There is nothing to cancel unless Schriibli later adds a paid plan and you subscribe to it. If that changes, cancellation instructions will be added before paid access is launched.
Account and data
How do I delete my data?
If you are logged in, go to your account page and request account deletion. During beta, deletion requests are reviewed manually. You can also contact support from the email address connected to your Schriibli account.
