Schriibli
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Schriibli helps learners practise writing natural Zurich German. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we use it, and how you can request access to or deletion of your data.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Schriibli is operated by Tomas Ghela. For privacy questions or data requests, contact us at hello@schriibli.ch.
2. Data we collect
We collect data needed to provide and improve Schriibli.
Account data
When you log in with a magic link, we process your email address and account information through Supabase.
Writing-practice data
When you complete an exercise, we may store your answer, selected scenario, score, suggested natural version, full correction feedback, and timestamp.
Onboarding data
If you complete onboarding, we may store your Swiss German level, reason for learning, optional native language, and optional answer to how you found Schriibli.
Feedback data
If you rate a correction or leave feedback, we may store your rating, optional note, and the related exercise or correction. If you submit the feedback form, we may process your message, feedback type, page context, and optional reply email.
3. How we use your data
- create and secure your account
- provide AI-assisted writing corrections
- save your writing attempts and progress
- improve exercises, corrections, and app reliability
- understand which features are useful or failing
- respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests
- prevent misuse, fraud, and security problems
4. AI-assisted feedback
When you request a correction, Schriibli sends your selected scenario and written answer to OpenAI so that feedback can be generated.
These requests happen server-side. Your OpenAI API key is not exposed to your browser.
AI feedback can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent. Schriibli is an educational practice tool, not an official language authority. Swiss German spelling varies, and a suggested correction is one natural option rather than the only correct way to write Zurich German.
Do not include highly sensitive personal information in writing exercises.
5. Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use Schriibli and improve the product.
Analytics events may include:
- exercise started
- correction requested, completed, or failed
- onboarding completed
- feedback, bug report, or feature request submitted
- general product usage and technical errors
We do not intentionally send your original written practice answer to PostHog. Feedback form messages are sent only when you submit them intentionally.
6. Service providers
We use third-party providers to operate Schriibli:
- Supabase for authentication and database storage
- OpenAI for AI-assisted correction feedback
- PostHog for product analytics
- Vercel for hosting and technical infrastructure
These providers may process data where needed to provide their services. Some processing may take place outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Schriibli may use cookies or similar technologies needed for login, security, and app functionality.
We may also use analytics technologies through PostHog to understand product usage and improve Schriibli.
Where required, we will ask for consent before using optional analytics technologies.
8. How long we keep data
We keep account, onboarding, writing-attempt, and feedback data while your account remains active.
We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed, unless we need to retain limited information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons.
9. Your data rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request:
- access to your personal data
- correction of inaccurate data
- deletion of your account and personal data
- information about how your data is used
- withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent
To make a privacy or deletion request, email hello@schriibli.ch from the email address connected to your Schriibli account.
You can also visit your account page to request deletion.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
Schriibli is not intended for children under 16 without permission from a parent or guardian.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Schriibli develops. The latest version will always be available on this page.
